Sadie Pemberton is a 200 year old vampire, who feels that werewolves should not be sticking their noses in New York's supernatural politics. They also don't need to be hanging around her club chasing away her vampire customers. Even if the wolf in particular is hot as sin Killian Bane. He just might be the one wolf in the world that will make her forget that VAMPIRES NEVER CRY WOLF.

Killian Bane doesn't want to be in New York playing nice with vampires, but he is on a mission. When he meets up with the sexiest vampire he had ever encountered, he decides that spending some time with Sadie just might make being there worthwhile. He has no way of knowing that this vampire is the woman of his dreams and the holder of his heart.

VAMPIRES NEVER CRY WOLF is author Sara Humphreys at her best. The characters pull you into their world and make you a part of what's going on. I really loved Sadie and I thought Killian her perfect match. There is a lot of action (and not just the hot steamy type, though that is plentiful) but there is also a good touch of mystery, intrigue and some very tender and satisfying moments. I am usually pretty good at guessing the whodunit part of books but this one came out of nowhere to my complete delight. I also was not expecting the twist that affects Sadie and changes her whole world.

Although this is book two of the Dead in the City series and past characters are part of what is happening, it is a stand alone. I read a lot of paranormal and I always find Ms. Humphreys' books to be satisfying and fun and VAMPIIRES NEVER CRY WOLF is no exception. I have this in my TRA shelf and will be looking for whatever comes next.
