The Prologue starts out with a short but vague description to set the story in motion. It may not make sense just yet, but as you read through the book, it will begin to make sense.

Rise of the Revenants Author: Poppy Dennison The Revenants Vampires are trapped in the basement of an old speakeasy with two long dead mages. They are released when construction works break through the wall that trapped them for decades. Taz and Javi are looking for descendants of a the two mages that were trapped inside with the revenant vampires. The believe that these revenants will flock to these descendants now that they have been freed.

While Taz searches properties owned by one of the descendants, he runs into Darren. Darren is an electrical apprentice working for the man Taz is looking for. Immediately there are sparks between Darren and Taz, however with the looming revenant vampire threat, beginning a new relationship is not an option.

With the help of Darren, Taz finally comes face to face with the mange's descendant, only to find out, he has no clue what he is. With no other options left but to fight the revenants as they circle the house, things get a bit more complicated when a werewolf and ghost show up as well.

Legacy of Blood and Death Author: Rhys Ford The revenant vampire hunt continues with Javi's side which runs concurrently with Taz's. While Taz was looking for one mage, Javi is looking for the other.

Javi tracks down the other blood mage as he his getting attacked by a revenant vampire. Ciarnan is a former blood mage who quit magic when he lost most of those around him. With the exception of Shaddock, his dark fae familiar and Elric a wolf dog protector. He is not the evil blood mage Javi expected. He is a slightly broken, and although the story does not go into detail as to what happened to Ciarnan, you get enough to follow the dialog between these too.

Much like Darren and Taz, these two also have some chemistry but also have their hands full trying to stop the revenant vampires that keep showing up.

Creature Feature 2 by authors Poppy Dennison & Rhys Ford puts a different spin on the ever popular vampire novel. Their revenant vampires are more zombie like and created out of magic, blood, and the already dead by mages .

There are parts of the book that get a bit intense because of the amount of characters introduced in such a short period for time. Before the new characters are settled, they are under attack again. This pair of stories is filled with the action packed horror apocalyptic gory fight scenes as well as a bit of romance too. I liked how the author brought everyone back together in the Epilogue. You get a sense of where the characters are headed next.

I thoroughly enjoyed CREATURE FEATURE 2 and would highly recommend it to anyone. Although this is my first book written by both Poppy Dennison and Rhys Ford, I loved their writing style and look forward to more from both of these two.
