Any book or story with a title like FEAR OF FLYING is going to bring thoughts to another book of the same name. This FEAR OF FLYING has its fair share of sexy, provocative, sassy scenes. It's really a novella that appeared previously in a compilation of stories and is now out on its own. Believe it or not that kind of made me smile once you get the story. FEAR OF FLYING is loosely about getting past life altering events and moving on. Actually moving forward would be a better choice. The main characters have charted the course of their lives and careers based on feelings that they just can't shake.

Leigh Court has put these two characters, Jessie Jordan and Regan Quade, together and although it appears to be random -- don't be fooled. Court definitely has something up her sleeve and you will have to read through to the ending to get it.

Simply put Jessie is afraid of flying. Her first flight had been a rocky one and that has set the tone. Interestingly her job as a publicist depends on her getting the client to appointments that could be just about anywhere. Therefore -- Jessie spends a lot of time in the airports and on planes. Her mantra is simple -- she has to be in control -- therefore Jessie fights to maintain that control even when her body has a mind of its own.

Regan is her newest client and he is on a book tour. Regan is a loner with a distinct issue for anything remotely resembling a relationship. Not that he doesn't like women. He just can't let anyone get too close. He fears the responsibility for them. So it is just easier to only watch out for himself.

But Regan quickly realizes that Jessie and he are going to be at loggerheads during this book tour. First is her fear of flying, second is her determined control of everything and lastly the instant attraction.

Suffice it to say both Regan and Jessie have their work cut out for them trying to maintain businesslike behavior during their travel. Regan is a pro at travel -- he writes guide books. Jessie is a pro at PR. Neither is too well versed in relationships.

Flying high has never been more fun.

FEAR OF FLYING by Leigh Court is really a fast fun book with enough sexy scenes to steam up the pages. Somehow Court makes the sex intrinsically important to the story. Well done. FEAR OF FLYING is a novella so don't expect a long drawn out tale but Leigh Court has packed quite a lot of activity in this rather short story. Be prepared to read some pages and passages a second time. Once just may not be enough.

Book Summary

You’re never going to die in a plane crash…

A mysterious fortune teller’s prediction plays right into book publicist Jessie Jordan’s biggest fear. A difficult childhood has left Jessie determined to control all aspects of her life, but she can’t control airplanes…

Travel writer Regan Quade also has control issues. A devastating event during his time in the military has scarred him into believing he needs to remain single. He can’t risk being responsible for anyone else’s life.

But during a nationwide media tour to promote Regan’s newest travel book, Jessie’s fear of flying prompts Regan to help calm her anxiety in a shocking and highly intimate way. The sudden change in their relationship from professional to personal unleashes their mutual attraction, but Jessie doesn’t know if there’s any way to pierce the wall Regan’s built around his heart.
