Skylar (Skye) Davis has returned to the town of Christmas Colorado where she hopes to hide out until she can get back on her feet. At age twenty-eight, she has spent her trust fund giving it to what she considers good causes and as "loans" to many friends. No one pays her back. Now, she has very little money in her pocket and is working at a bakery. She is flat broke! She is hoping that the word doesn't get out or she will die of embarrassment. To make matters worse, she has been avoiding a past indiscretion, and he just walked back into her life.

Skye is a solid Democrat and an activist that fights for all of her beliefs very loud and proud! Ethan is a handsome, wealthy Republican, who comes from a very well known family and is running for State Senator. Their differences are so drastic that it's a wonder they ever got together. Their last encounter a couple months ago was wonderful but a scandal would hurt his chances if it ever got out. She is exactly what makes him happy, but is not what he needs on the campaign trail. He has no idea how that night will come back in his life and change the course he is on, but it does!

IT HAPPENED AT CHRISTMAS is such a sweet, fun and engaging story that is sure to lighten any reader's heart. I fell in love with Skye and Ethan immediately and found Madison, Skye's best friend to be enduring. Annie and Lily McBride are absolutely adorable in their banter with Ethan and they had me giggling out loud. Each of the characters in the book brought their own special dimension to the story. Christmas, Colorado sounds like the perfect place to live and make lifelong friends like Skye has.

I adored IT HAPPENED AT CHRISTMAS and eagerly await the next novel by the wonderfully talented and always delightful Debbie Mason! Debbie Mason gives the best gift of all in this funny, heartwarming novel that touches the very core of Christmas. If you love Christmas themed books, you will really enjoy this book. I know it has become part of my permanent Christmas book collection.

In fact it has lifted my christmas spirit so much i plan to tackle some more Christmas shopping i have put off the past week.
