There are only two classes left, and she's about to give up, when that night's model is just her type. Kim is anything but shy; she waits for him after class and they go for a coffee. Michael Montgomery says he's thirty; she thinks he looks younger, but its not like they're going to get serious, is it? Kim doesn't do serious relationships. She hadn't noticed him, but Michael remembers Kim from a few months before when he assisted her when she had car troubles. He is in reality twenty- five and a virgin, and she's not his first older woman.
I hadn't even realised DRAWN DEEP was the second book in a series, so there is definitely no problem with catching up with the story line. I loved thesee characters! They're far from perfect but so interesting: the're working class, unconventional in many ways, and very modern; and Kim is one of the most fascinating female characters I've encountered in quite a while. As you read, you get to know Michael and Kim as they discover each other, in more ways than one. I did however find Michael's background story a bit of overkill; a trifle too melodramatic and some details rather unnecessary to the story arc, but it doesn't deter from a most enjoyable read, as you get none of the expected clichés and a very fresh and contemporary voice to tell an unusual and complex love story.
Ms. Quinn's prose is fluid and effortless, the pages simply flow by. The dialogues are very realistic, often playful; they actually do talk to each other, and both have a great sense of humour! Kim is quite forward and no- nonsense while Michael is a bit more reserved; they are a very exciting couple indeed.
I must confess that during sex scenes, sometimes my eyes glass over, my attention wanders: same expressions, same body parts, same descriptions; variations on a theme basically and after a while, it's not that titillating. This is definitely not the case with DRAWN DEEP: if in other books, you find acrobatics, here you find ballet! The first "real" sex scene is enthralling! It's lyrical without being precious; you get a profound feeling of pleasure, awe, wonder; it is literally poetry in motion. Ms. Quinn manages in DRAWN DEEP to innovate where sex is concerned; no mean feat!
Book Summary
He’s offering her his cherry, any way she likes it…
Afternoon Delight, Book 2
Kim O’Halloran is on a self-enforced hiatus from dating younger men. Until her erotic art class instructor puts a sexy, intriguing male model in front of her sketch pad.
Suddenly celibacy’s starting to seem like a really bad idea. Better—or worse—yet, she discovers the man she’s lusting over isn’t just her junior. He’s a virgin. And he’s asking her to corrupt him a time or two. Or fifty. For starters.
Michael Montgomery may only be in his mid-twenties, but he knows what and who he wants. Kim and her wicked ways are a perfect cure for the sexual frustration and bone-deep loneliness he’s put up with for way too long.
The timing in both their lives is all wrong to be pushing past their boundaries—in the bed, on the couch or against the car. Yet Kim finds herself enjoying teaching him how to please a woman…and Michael finds himself willing to use every trick she knows to persuade his commitment-phobic lover to change her mind about love.
Warning: This book contains a virgin hero who learns quick—and hard—and a heroine who doesn’t mind getting filthy during a lesson. Oh, and make sure to watch out for the dirty talking…bird.
