DEEPLY IN YOU by Sharon Page seems to play into the predictable story paths of the rakish duke-stubborn and socially beneath woman trope at first, but about a fourth of the way in, the story finds an exciting, original, and ultimately refreshing stride that makes it hard to step away for the rest of the novel. Helena and Grey's journey is one of intense passion, begrudging love, sinful scandal, deadly mystery, and a large dose of care.
The characterization of the minor characters shines in this book. Grey and Helena both have family members they care deeply for, and it's a sheer joy getting to know them. They each are so distinct and interesting. With the main characters, Helena and Grey, they all make the story feel intimate. I could imagine the later books in the Wicked Dukes series giving off a vibe of coming home after reading this one.
For readers of historical romance and erotica, DEEPLY IN YOU explores a relationship you won't soon forget. Sharon Page does a marvelous job of creating life-like characters in an aged world. Though the beginning was a bit rocky for me, DEEPLY IN YOU is a heart-warming, body-heating enjoyable read not to be missed.
