The premise of this book presents a common problem. Tate Patton is a workaholic husband who puts almost all his time and effort into his career as a lawyer. Karen has been supportive and patient for nearly a decade—maybe a little too patient. When she finally realizes that Tate is not going to snap out of it and fit her into his schedule, she is starting to become bitter and resentful. She just wants it to be over so she can get on with her life, so she files divorce papers. Tate has the audacity to be surprised when the papers are served on him. And then he starts to think.

Fast forward to the real dilemma. Both are invited to a last minute wedding of friends in Rome. Neither thinks the other is going. Both are booked into the same hotel (their friends' doing) and are thrown into each other's company. Karen decides that a no-strings fling with her ex will do her good. Tate sees it as an opportunity to win her back.

Jordan has written a real page turner and it's not just the passionate scenes. The re-building of the trust that has been broken and the often snide, but clever repartee keeps the story flowing.

From the beginning, I sympathized with Karen, but eventually I started to understand Tate and his issues. Karen's group of friends has a real "sisterhood" going on and they are supportive and entertaining. Mess with one of them and you mess with all. This is the core of the story and where the other stories in the series branch out. I look forward to reading the further adventures in Crystal Jordan's Destination: Desire series.
