Being a self- professed fangirl of this husband and wife writing duo, I couldn't wait to dive into their newest offering. You know those feelings you get when you start a new series? Excitement over something new, hope that the dialogue, narrative and voice you love so well will shine through once again and just a little bit of worry that maybe it won't? I had all those feelings when I opened BURN FOR ME for the first time.

BURN FOR ME is set in a world where the rich and influential are magic wielders who have created powerful dynasties set around the types of magic they hold.Those dynasties are called Houses and at the very top of the food chain in each house there is a Prime. The alpha whose magic is the strongest. The hero of BURN FOR ME is Connor "Mad" Rogan and he is the most alpha of all the Prime. A man who has off the charts magical talent, but ultimately made the choice to join the army and use his magical ability in defense of his country. Mad Rogan is an enigma.

Nevada Baylor runs the her quirky family's private investigation business. She has a low-level talent of knowing if a person is being truthful, one which she's tried to keep under wraps all her life. While in the middle of an investigation she gets called on by the corporation who holds the debt to her family business. She is tasked with bringing in the Prime that is loose in the city, burning down buildings and setting things on fire. Even though she wants to, she literally can not say no. She has been told under no uncertain terms that if she fails the debt for the family business will be called in. So now she has to figure out a way to capture, unharmed, one the most ruthless and powerful men alive. Enter Mad Rogan who has his own agenda and reasons why he wants to capture Adam Pierce.

Amazing world-building, tight plotting, edge of your seat action scenes and fully fleshed out characters make BURN FOR ME another winner for Ilona Andrews. You will love Nevada from the moment she walks onto the page and be charmed by her family. The chemistry between her and Rogan is a slow burn that will have readers aching for the next installment to see what happens next for this unlikely couple. Each of those things make this a superb first book in a series, but with any Ilona Andrews book, my very favorite thing has to be the dialogue and the dry humor that permeates the story and pops up when you least expect it. There are too many laugh out loud moments to count. Even in the most dire of circumstances, these characters are full of wit and humor.

There isn't one thing about BURN FOR ME I wish were better or would change. It really was that awesome. Readers should be forewarned, there is no happily ever after for this couple, as their romance is still developing and slowly building, but it shows promise of being magnificent. I had a moment of sadness when I read the last word and closed the book . Then I picked it back up and started all over again.

I can't recommend BURN FOR ME enough. BURN FOR ME is in a league all its own in the paranormal romance genre and is sure to catapult the Hidden Legacy series into must read territory.
