DEA Agent Charlie Nash barely survives a shootout in a warehouse, escaping with a couple of bullet holes in him. Someone at the DEA exposed his undercover operation to the Garciela drug cartel he has infiltrated. Teresa Rodriguez uses this back way home from her job as a pediatric nurse at the hospital.

When she sees the truck slammed into a tree, she stops to see if there is anyone injured. She finds Nash unconscious in a pool of blood. She tried to help him, but he draws his gun on her and demands that she patch him up and get him back on his feet. He can't trust anyone at the DEA right now and needs her help. Can he keep himself hidden and Teresa safe until he can figure out who the snitch is at DEA and bring this drug cartel down? Nash and Teresa spend most of this adventure on the run from the bad guys, but who can tell the bad guys from the good? Both are very strong characters with defiant personalities. Teresa's family is smothering her all the time about being careful. They get drawn into this fiasco when she and Nash have no one else to rely on. The plot is continually taking unexpected turns as Nash and Teresa are literally running for their lives.
