"Andrews makes looking for love a lot of fun"

Love stories are usually dreamy and sexy and SMALL-TOWN REDEMPTION by Beth Andrews is no exception to that rule. But then Andrews decides to expand that definition to show that everyone needs someone to love and sometimes that someone is the last person you expect to fill that position. Love is blind -- thank goodness.

Spontaneity is a lofty goal especially for someone used to plans and lists -- but hard times demand changes and chances usually considered fool hardy. Live life to its fullest. An admirable reach after having your dreams and plans implode. And Charlotte knew just what would satisfy her need to break out her safe mode and probably shock everyone who thought they knew her.

Kane fit the bill -- an excellent outlet for her sexual inhibitions and sex appeal doubts. Not a candidate for the part of happily after but that wasn't what Char was seeking.

Nurse by day -- fem fatale by night -- this was a huge stretch for Char. The quandary was how to get from Red -- Kane's somewhat annoying nickname for his image of her as a little girl -- to Char a grown woman with a sexy mouthwatering body. Okay maybe that's asking for too much. But you can't fault a girl from trying.

Get ready to absolutely fall in love with Charlotte who really has it all even if she doesn't acknowledge that. She is smart, witty, cute and striking looking even if not classically beautiful. She has an innate vulnerability that touches you right from the beginning.

You really want her to find that special someone who will devote his life to making her happy, fulfilled, loved and appreciated. And if he finds her absolutely lovely then all the better. What are the chances that someone could be Kane -- well you know that one about not judging a book by its cover. If it ever fit a character it would be Kane. It would take an incredible woman to peel back Kanes many layers -- perhaps a woman just like Char.

So easy to get involved in a story by Beth Andrews. Having read many of her books I was prepared to enjoy her latest book SMALL-TOWN REDEMPTION. As it turns out SMALL-TOWN REDEMPTION just may be my favorite which is a stretch since I have loved everything written by this talented author.

Andrews has the gift of gab which is apparent from the spitfire dialog that makes you feel as though you are right there with the characters. It is easy to move from laughing out loud to experiencing that ah feeling. What started out as a seemingly straight forward romance novel translates into a wonderful story about self-discovery. SMALL-TOWN REDEMPTION will definitely whet your appetite for more of Beth Andrews's wonderful tales.

Book Summary

He's the opposite of perfect, and forever isn't in his vocabulary. What was she thinking? Still, she simply has to stay away from him and everything will be on track.

But avoidance is impossible when Kane lands in her E.R. All of Charlotte's protective instincts come out when she sees him in pain. She knows firsthand getting involved with him is a bad deal. But this attraction might be too deep to ignore.
