Andy is just out on a routine assassination for the government agency she works for when things get a little out of hand. Andy is a little confused as to why they have her killing a human instead of a shifter as is normal for her, but what the heck a job is a job. Only problem is that right as she is about to tear out the guys throat his body guard knocks on the door and Andy smells werewolf. Now she must finish the job and get away but after a long fight she wakes up in the bed of the Werewolf Alpha. As she heals waiting to met with the vampire he works for she must find a way to escape and save herself or at least find a way to make a deal that will save her and maybe get her sometime with the sexy Alpha of the pack.

I love a good paranormal romance and SHIFT HAPPENS is a good one. Andy and the Alpha Wick are a couple that you can't wait to see together, but then honestly wonder if the author is going to allow it to happen.

SHIFT HAPPENS has excitement, intrigue and lots of danger. I love the whole cast of characters and how they played a part in the story. Not to mention she leaves you with an idea as to what she is going to do with the next book, and I'll wait till then to decide if I'm going to yell at her or not.

Since SHIFT HAPPENS is the start of a new series it can be read as a standalone but I think you will want to read more and more as J.C. Mckenzie writes the next book in the series. SHIFT HAPPENS is a great to start to what looks to be a great series.
