THE GEEK BILLIONAIRE MAKEOVER sounds pretty complicated already, and that's before Caroline even starts work. Joshua Martin owns Softech and now he's investing in space habitats. His young, clean image will encourage people to invest - if he gets out and meets them. He's a workaholic with agoraphobia who has earned his money the hard way, so he dresses like a student and doesn't willingly socialise. His advisor hires Caroline without asking Josh. When they meet, Caroline is determined to do a good job. She's also determined to get revenge of her own. Josh - as a nerdy high-school kid - changed the course of her life while the innovative tech company he founded with her brother Connor, somehow ended up in Josh's name. She silently thinks it is time the chickens came home to roost.

Josh may be a loner but he's indomitable and a strong leader in his own field. He looks at Caroline and recalls that when he asked her out at school, the popular girl turned him down and a quarterback knocked him out. Why would he co-operate with her suggestions?

The fun starts quickly and I won't go into the details; I'll just hint at Lake Washington scenery, Oregon dunes, Star Wars talk and tailor-made clothing. There's blackmail, intimation of murder, and a great scene at Comic Con. Looks like you can take the geek out of the computer game chatrooms, but you can't stop him from being a geek.

THE GEEK BILLIONAIRE MAKEOVER by Theresa Meyers caught my eye with the fun, catchy title but it's an old fashioned romance story at heart. The author has written several other romances and urban fantasies. Today when techies are doing so much to improve our lives, we should all take a vow to hug a geek.
