Annie and Max Darling have a knack for getting involved with the mysteries in Broward's Rock. Annie is the mystery bookstore owner of Death on Demand, while her husband is a lawyer. Using what they know, along with aid from friends, helps them find who murdered Jane, the wife of a local artist. There is, also, Paul, the town's doctor, found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot. To Annie something is not right. His sister, Lucy claims he did not even own a gun! Are Paul and Jane's deaths connected?

Lucy finds a sketch her brother drew before his death, a warning that Jane was in danger. There are many clues, but not every thing adds up. Annie and Max have to find out who would want to murder Jane. There are many that would benefit from her death. This will not be easy to solve. First, Annie and Max have to convince the local police that Paul's death was not a suicide. Can they crack this case before Annie is the next victim?

Carolyn Hart does a great job with DEATH AT THE DOOR. She maps out the motivations for each possible suspect. As I read, I found myself trying to put the puzzle together to figure out who the murderer was, and with each turn of the page, I would change my mind as to who I thought did it. DEATH AT THE DOOR is defiantly a novel I would recommend for any mystery lover.
