I absolutely love the town of Oiltop! Nancy J. Parra brings her town to vivid life, crafting characters I want to sit and chat with while sampling some of the delicious wares at Toni's bakery. Who can't help but love a town where the residents still honor a hometown hero on Thanksgiving, naming it Homer Everett Day?

Oiltop is full of quirky characters and intrigue and MURDER GONE A-RYE showcases this to the fullest. Aunt Phyllis fits in perfectly with Toni's large and crazy family. Even better, we get to see quite a bit of Grandma in Nancy J. Parra's second installment in A Baker's Treat Mystery series.

MURDER GONE A-RYE is sheer fun! I love how Nancy J. Parra addresses gluten allergies and sensitivities, weaving them into the plot in a way that is both entertaining and educational. Toni is a phenomenal reluctant heroine, as she loves her family even as she wonders what trouble they will find next. MURDER GONE A-RYE is highly recommended for all cozy mystery fans as Nancy J. Parra has hooked me on A Baker's Treat Mystery series!
