The standout of this story is Callihan's writing. You can have endearing characters and epic worlds, but nothing is more better than when you have stellar writing in a book. Each chapter makes you hold your breath. Each conversation between the protagonists furthers the plot. The way in which this novel is built displays Callihan's unique talent and you see this time and time again with each of her books.
Furthermore, Callihan expands her world with an interesting surprise as she introduces mechanical men, a variety of demons and more alluring creatures that go bump in the night! As if the gloomy streets of London didn't already make for a wondrous backdrop, each player holds a story just waiting to be told.
SHADOWDANCE exceeded my high expectations. This book had it all: lush backgrounds, intense fight scenes and brilliant writing. Be ready to be fully submerged in the adventurous, romantic world that Callihan has created. If you're like me, you may never want to leave.
