Leigh Greenwood brings romance to an action filled western worthy of reading. The storyline is filled with conflict and compromise making TO HAVE AND TO HOLD captivating and enjoyable. Colby is the typical western hero; a cowboy alone who leaves his solitary life to save the day. He is charismatic and his vulnerability makes him well - rounded while staying a capable hero. Naomi is strong willed, but away from home, and her willingness to learn new things and take care of her family make her likable and believable. The setting is well researched and the desert comes alive with Greenwood's wonderful detail descriptions. The plot twists are unexpected and readers will be happily satisfied with the outcome. The ending is pleasing, and Greenwood leaves an opening for a sequel.
