Teenager Carly Archer has been enduring something that no one should have to. At her private school, Sacred Sisters, she has been the victim of some pretty intense brutal bullying. On top of that, her best friend no longer wants anything to do with her and Carly doesn't understand any of it. Her mother, Jen, had attended Sacred Sisters when she was in high school and she loved it. For that reason, she can't understand why Carley isn't thriving. In fact, Carly seems miserable but refuses to talk about what the problem is.

The bullies are just the tip of the iceberg, though, in the grand scheme of things. Danger has come to town for a visit and is seeking revenge for a long ago act of cruelty that resulted in the ultimate loss. As the body count starts to rise, will Carly survive the web that she's found herself caught in?

THE GOOD SISTER is another example of just how good a writer Wendy Corsi Staub is. A creepy set up and a continuing mystery with little clues dropped along the way make for a definite page turner. Be warned, too, that just when you think you've got things figured out; you don't! There's a serious twist at the end of THE GOOD SISTER that you would never have seen coming no matter how adept you are at guessing who is guilty of what in plotlines. I guarantee that it is a definite head shaking, jaw dropping moment when you finally reach the explanation of what has been happening and the reasons behind it.

Readers familiar with Ms. Staub's writing style already know that she never gives away anything until she's ready. You'll have plenty of creepiness and outright nerve jangling scariness along the way to a satisfying resolution. THE GOOD SISTER is, happily, written in true Wendi Corsi Staub style with both the quality and suspense that readers have come to expect from her books.

The characters created in THE GOOD SISTER are pretty three dimensional as they do step off the page for you. Having said that, there were moments when I seriously wanted to slap some sense into both Jen and Carly. There are lots of devout Catholics in THE GOOD SISTER so the way that these people handle the events thrown at them may be a bit different than how you would handle them.

I can't say enough great things about THE GOOD SISTER. The plot is captivating from page one and doesn't let up until that final page. Longtime fans of Wendi Corsi Staub should definitely pick up this one. THE GOOD SISTER will make new fans out of those readers that have never experienced this writer.

With everyone, including her husband, telling her she's overreacting, she tries to put it behind her...but something about the situation just doesn't feel right.

Jen's daughter Carly turns to internet message boards for help, finding a kindred spirit in "Angel". But as she shares more and more, is she truly confiding in a friend...or risking her life at the hands of a dangerous madman?
