One day during the famed Watermelon Festival Amanda manages to not only lose her son but her Granny as well. With the help of the radio announcer, Grant Trumbull, she finds them both and also finds her future. She has been lost ever since her husband died. It looks like she has a whole new life ahead of her.
Grant Trumbull is new in town and very single. He recently left Chicago where there was no shortage of women for him. He was happy for awhile with his life, but soon realized that something was missing. No matter how much money he made or how many women he dated, he was never happy. So, he quits his job and moves to Last Chance. He is immediately taken with the small town and can't wait to get to know all the quirky towns people.
I loved this book and always love visiting with my friends in Last Chance. You will never go wrong with a Ramsay book! LAST CHANCE SUMMER is a short story, only 49 pages but it packs a punch. I was immediately caught up in this small town once again and finished it very quickly. I wish Last Chance was a real town somewhere near me. I would love to get to know all of these people.
Book Summary
It wouldn't be summer without the Watermelon Festival, and single mom Amanda Wright is looking forward to a carefree day eating funnel cakes and sipping sweet tea. But with her inquisitive son and elderly grandmother in tow, she's not in the mood for carnival rides or the kissing booth, until she hears a charming, funny voice over the loudspeaker.
Grant Trumbull is the new DJ at the local radio station, and his deep, booming cadence has all the ladies of the church auxillary atwitter. Even without seeing his face, Amanda can't help but wonder if he's the one for her. When she finally comes face to face with the man behind the mic, summer is about to get a whole lot hotter in little Last Chance, South Carolina.
