FIRE INSIDE shows Lanie reflecting on how she'd stood by her fiancé even after learning that he was mixed up with the Russian mafia. He'd been shot dead and a stray bullet hit the girl, scarring her and causing her to cut herself off from the world. Now she's trying to reconnect, and Hopper hits that spot. But it's only about sex isn't it? She doesn't want to get close to anyone. Two weeks of going to bed together later, she's not sure what's happening, but it isn't necessarily what she wants. Just to prove her independence, she wanders into a rough bar in Denver with about seven thousand Harleys parked outside. This however proves to be a mistake....

This tale won't suit those who prefer sweet romances, but if you want to read about a girl who's hard as nails and a tall guy with a Harley and an insatiable appetite for the right woman - with a large helping of respect for her - Kristen Ashley's book is where to park your bike. The other characters have endearing names like Hound, Ty, Snapper, Boz, Tug, Brick and Dog, which can make it difficult to keep them straight, and not all women who hang around with burly biker guys are well treated. I suggest reading an excerpt of FIRE INSIDE to see if you get on with the style, or just jumping straight in to the Chaos Motorcycle Club if you want to live dangerously.
