Maggie Sefton combines mystery, laughter and friendship in CLOSE KNIT KILLER. The story takes place in the town of Ft Connors, CO. We get to meet up with Kelly who is not only a CPA but also a part time sleuth.
Much of the story line revolves around the murder of Rizzoli who had spent time in prison for taking money from innocent people . Rizzoli is found dead in his car. There are several suspects. First we have Barbara. Her father gave this man all of his saving and lost everything. He also killed himself and Barbara blames Rizzoli for the lose of her father. Than we have Morgan. He also, lost not only his money, but his family, and home.
Maggie Sefton keeps readers guessing as to who the real murderer is. More and more clues are revealed against the two main suspects. Maggie's way of writing is great. There are several smaller story lines, but I never got confused.
Kelly has a very hard time believing that either Barbara or Morgan could be the killers. She does everything to try and find the real killer.
Maggie Sefton also writes about friendship. The friendship storyline was one of my favorite part of CLOSE KNIT KILLER. AS Pete's friends gather together to help out their friend The grandfather that raised him has a heart attack. When Pete goes to help his grandfather, he also has to decide what to do with his niece. His sister left her with their grandfather as she did not want to be a mother. Pete brings his niece back to Ft Connors. Kelly and the group all take turns helping Pete out by making sure his niece is not bored in Ft Connors.
I can't wait for the next book to come out. I hope that Maggie Sefton continues to write about this group of characters for some time to come.
