So here's the premise of this slightly wacky Brown book that has just the right about of silliness mixed with warm hearted fun and of course let's not forget that most important component -- love. Money can buy a lot -- mostly good things -- but it also opens the door to opportunists with dollar signs in their eyes. Blinded by the enticement of riches people become uncomfortably aggressive and unwelcomingly friendly and bold. Brown decides to poke fun at this and not take it too seriously. Kind of like she treats most of life's challenges which makes for a most enjoyable read.

For Colton it seemed that all people saw when they looked at him was this lucky cowboy who won the lottery, big, as in a billion dollars. What they failed to notice was he was a hard working cowboy and rancher who liked working the land. He liked his life and this windfall of money was supposed to help him do for those he loved and improve all their lots. The funny thing is that they were really all very happy and content with things just the way they were. This money really upset their collective apple cart. Privacy was a thing of the past. No filter. Just going shopping for Colton was a series of uncomfortable moments that left him wishing for some anonymity. And his life was experiencing some rather dangerous encounters with ladies who were willing to try any ploy to get their hooks into this very rich cowboy.

Something needed to be done and his family and friends, support group that they were, decided enough is enough. They needed a plan that would get these ladies off the scent of their rich friend.

Somehow things just fell into place, better than they could have planned. Hiring a financial advisor to assist Colton's friend Andy brought Laura to the Circle 6 ranch. Laura desperately needed to borrow money from her cousin Andy. This was just the latest incident when Laura had to step up and basically bail out her sister. Andy was willing to lend the money if Laura would come and work with him. But once Laura arrived at the ranch it seemed her presence could have a much more valuable purpose.

A plan was concocted. Real simple, have Laura act the role of Colton's girl friend. Once off the market that should drive away the crazy ladies. All they have to do is convince their neighbors that this was the real deal. Everyone wins.

Some deals just sound too good to be true, but this one had a lot of merit. And for the most part it was working quite well. Sure there were naysayers who couldn't understand the attraction. Laura just didn't fit the bill. But to Colton, Laura was almost too good to be true. They developed a healthy friendship based on many shared interests. But Colton believed that Laura was the real deal. What you saw was what you get. And so far everything he saw pleased him on many levels.

They say that there is a soul mate for everyone. Carolyn Brown gave us a heartwarming look into a group of people who will definitely win a place in your heart. So much so you won't want to leave. Luckily there are at least two more stories to look forward to.

Book Summary
