When Sophie Medina returns from a photojournalist assignment to her London flat, she finds a bloodbath. It appears that her husband, Nick Canning, has been killed or kidnapped. Nick works as a geologist for Crowne Engery, but is also a covert CIA operative. A few days later, Nick's boss is found dead. A few weeks after that, Nick's CIA handler is discovered dead in Iskar, Abadistan. Nick's body is never found by the authorities, and now they are thinking that Nick faked his own death/kidnapping, and that he is responsible for the deaths of these other two people who are connected to him.

Three months later, Sophie decides to return the United States and find a job there. Her family is here and she has nothing keeping her in London now. She believes Nick is still alive, is determined to find him and thinks her chances are better in the US. Her new photography job puts her in contact with some pretty high level individuals who help her discover what Nick was working on. It seems that several different parties want the well logs that Nick was in possession of from tests done in Abadistan. What is in those well logs that has caused people to kill for them? Did someone from within the CIA betray Nick?

MULTIPLE EXPOSURE is a fast-paced mystery with political intrigue, car chases, art history, international espionage, blackmail and personal scandal all rolled into one. Sophie finds herself in several situations where the bad guys have guns and all she has is her camera. Sometimes she's not sure if the good guys are really good guys or bad guys. This is a story about trust, honesty and loyalty. Ellen Crosby paints beautiful visual imagery of her characters' surroundings with her command of the English language. She makes you want to stroll through some of the parks and gardens she is describing. Her characters are strong and well developed, with varied personalities. Each lends just the right voice to move the plot along. The Russian art history lesson included in this story about the Faberge Eggs is fantastic. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this new Sophie Medina series. Do not miss this one!
