Raine survives the robbery but because the robbers get away things go from bad to worse. Due to some confusion about a wounded "angel" it's quickly believed that she and her grandfather are behind the robbery. Everyone knows they are in financial trouble and who better to know how to cover up a crime than a cop.

Dillon finds out from his angel father that interfering may have endangered the very lives of the sexy, beautiful woman and her grandfather he was trying to save. He has to help them clear their names. How can he convince the deputy he wants to help?

Raine believes it was all a scam and he was part of the robbery and of course he can't be an angel. Though somewhere in the back of her mind she secretly hopes there's some devil in him. Why else would she be having such devilish thought about the sexy man? Maybe he's crazy but she finds herself depending on him to help her clear her and her grandfather's names.

SMOKING HOT is exactly as the title suggests it is smoking hot. There is a lot of action and devilishly sexy half angels. I could not put it down until I reached the last page, and then I wanted to read it all over again. The author [Karen Kelley] weaves an intriguing mystery along with the hotter than hot sexual tension that flows between Raine and Dillon. The secondary characters are funny, heartwarming and in the case of Dillon's 'brothers' yummy. I hope Ms. Kelley has plans on more books in this genre, because I think those brothers' need to have their own story.
