Cain is a warrior, a Sentinel, who has had reason to slip into depression but coming to the rescue of Rory Rainey may be just the medicine he needs. His dilemma is does he have the strength to take a chance again on finding his mate?

Rory has spent her life seeing visions, visions that are driving her near insane with the constant barrage. She is seeking the person who can help her. Someone to stop the visions. After she meets Cain she finds that his touch stills the visions, but both are physically hurt when they stop touching. She also finds that one of the demon things bit her, but didn't poison her instead it took her blood.

The Synestryn, demons, can use that blood to try to control her. Make her do things against the Sentinels. Rory has no choice, though a part of her doesn't mind, but to trust Cain to help her search for those demons who would use her.

FALLING BLIND is a fast paced adventure with two strong, very independent central characters involved in a life or death fight against evil complicated by growing love. Author, Shannon K. Butcher has a flair with writing that has the reader's attention caught and held from the first word to the last. All in all I loved the action, the return of past characters, and watching the growing love between Rory and Cain. If I have one complaint it would be that at times Rory was irritating, showing a childish, whining side that leads the reader to wonder if she deserved a man like Cain. This is the 9th installment of Ms. Butcher's The Sentinel Wars, and though it is not necessary to read the others to absolutely enjoy this one ... you will just want to read them all. I certainly plan to.
