Claire Mckinley has been dumped at the altar by her boyfriend Chris. His brother, sexy SEAL Dylan Wade, takes her back home with him, not knowing what else to do with her. Only thing is, he forgets all about his sexy live-in lover Aidan. Dylan and Aidan's relationship was just a spark in the previous book, Getting Hotter, but by the beginning of this book, they are in an established relationship. By the time Claire is in the condo with the guys for a couple of days, the tension is already palpable.

Claire is fully aware that Dylan and Aidan are involved in a sexual relationship, but that doesn't stop her from getting the hots for both of the men. She also knows that the men are not gay, but bi-sexual, and still enjoy ménages with women. Aidan and Dylan are happy together, but both feel that they still 'need' a woman in their lives.

Unfortunately for them, Claire doesn't think she can handle the kind of relationship they are offering her. Aidan finally takes control of the matter, and locks her into a bedroom with Dylan until nature takes its course. Dylan steps up and tells Claire that the relationship will have to be a package deal with him and Aidan. The two men sensually work on wearing down her resistance to the idea of a three-way romance with them. Eventually, the relationship between the three of them becomes serious, but they have to weather the resistance of the world to their unusual relationship; and Dylan and Aidan have to open up about their feelings to each other, and to the world.

HOTTER THAN EVER is a cute, sexy story that does a pretty good job of tackling a rather unusual type of romantic/sexual relationship in the real world, a permanent MMF. The pressures of the outside world are realistic to an extent; although Elle Kennedy goes to great pains to stack the deck in Aidan, Claire, and Dylan's favor, using stock villains and crass stereotypes to place the relationship in a favorable light. The story gets a little heavy towards the end, with a lot of family drama; and Claire's sleazy ex- fiancé Chris maliciously creating havoc in her life. Still, even with some of these missteps, the story works well.

There is a good bit of interaction with all of the 'Out of Uniform' gang in this story. There are several very enjoyable scenes with group, giving readers a chance to catch up on the lives of most of the previous couples. Claire gets an earful on 'who has slept with who' in this rather close group of SEAL's and their wives and girlfriends. The subject matter takes a serious turn in a few places as their relationship is brought out to the world; but for the most part, HOTTER THAN EVER is a fun, sexy romp, if not particularly believable. Regular readers of the series will enjoy this hot little story; and HOTTER THAN EVER can also be read as a standalone.
