A compilation of three short stories from the very successful Peter O'Donnell. His Modesty Blaise character started life as a comic strip. Modesty worked for a secret organization as a troubleshooter/enforcer. The comic strip was so successful that O'Donnell later wrote books and short stories based around the character.

In the first story "The Girl From the Future, we see Modesty and her sidekick, Willie Garvin, meeting a famous science fiction writer who believes in UFOs. He is convinced that he is housing a lady from the future and he is helping her return. Modesty and Willie will save the people conning him from death since they had no idea that their hired help were worse than expected.

The second story "The Big Mole" takes place in a small English village as Modesty and Willie circumvent the escape of a traitor using a battle staged every year since the English Civil War.

In Lady in the Dark, Modesty and Willie must protect their friend as she is called in to determine the position of a long lost treasure.

My only exposure to Peter O'Donnell's work was the books he wrote as Madeline Brent. This chance to read some of the Modesty Blaise stories was too good to pass up. It's not the first graphic novel released of some of the Blaise stories. I'd love to see the originals and be able to follow the characters from their inception. My only quibble with the release is the size of the book. It's too tall and wide to read with it held in one hand.
