Zander, the radio station manager, runs marathons for a sense of challenge in his quiet life. He comes up with a way for the show to get value and Georgia to save face. For the next year, the practical plant expert at Kew Gardens will be financed and interviewed as she takes courses and tries adventures and learns to rebuild her life without her boyfriend. Zander has luxury cars and a large home in Hampstead Heath, but agrees to accompany Georgia on her evening courses after their work.

The cookery course is pretentious and fawning, so when Georgia leaves early Zander takes her to help in a busy restaurant kitchen instead, and a sense of trust begins to build between them. The contrast between Georgia's fern- filled apartment and Zander's unlived-in house and garden is what makes the executive really think differently about the girl, and when she swaps a break in Ibiza for a balloon flight in Cappadocia, Turkey, over an ancient civilisation's city, Zander finds himself falling for her. But Georgia has no intention of gaining another boyfriend. She's made that mistake already!
