Kiya (Kay) Alissano is a werewolf, who just happens to be the daughter of the Shadow Pack's Alpha. She has been given some time away from the pack then she must return and marry the man her father has chosen for her, a man Kay hates. On a reluctant night out with her friend, she is tricked and drugged and wakes up next to a vampire trapped by silver chains. She had been brought in to be his food but the witch didn't know that werewolf blood is not to a vampires liking. Nor did the witch know she had brought in the means of Gideon's escape, she just had to survive until the full moon. His food becomes his salvation.

With the witch hot on their trail, they try to stay free of her but she uses magic to keep track of them. Even with the help of another witch she can't be stopped. Gideon and Kay find they have no choice but to go to her pack for protection. Once there things go downhill for the lovers, her father demands the betrothal and marriage to Victor take place immediately. Kay has no choice, she must obey her alpha then her pack husband or Gideon will die.

DESIRE THE NIGHT is excellent! There is no other word for the way this book was written. The action and romance for these star-crossed, or if you please species-crossed, lovers, is packed with the emotional ups and downs that would have done Shakespeare proud. You will root for Gideon and Kay right from the beginning and be really ecstatic with the way things end. I have read a number of books written by Amanda Ashley and have always been very satisfied with them and DESIRE THE NIGHT, in my opinion, was really the best I've read so far.
