This is the introduction to Novak's new series Whiskey Creek. Well all I can say is if this is any indication of what's to come then bring it on. I can't wait for the next installment. The only negative is that I wanted more -this was way too short for me but it's a novella and here's a useful marvelous tidbit. If you visit Brenda Novak on her website she supplies a link to various sites where this novella is available free. It just gets better and better. I wanted to spend more time with these lovely people and it's nice to know I will with the next books in this series. Talk about difficult and awkward situations. This had to take the cake. Olivia Arnold has been summoned to not only attend but help with her sister's wedding to none other than Olivia's old boyfriend. The man Olivia thought was the one. Well think again. When Olivia had asked Kyle for a bit of time to get her business career off to a good start she never expected that her sister would quickly move in to take her place with Kyle. Of course it takes two to tango, so to speak, but not only was there going to be a wedding but a child was on the way. Everyone was convinced Kyle was making a big mistake marrying for the child's sake but that wasn't really up for discussion. Kyle's mind was made up.

The one saving grace for Olivia was Kyle's stepbrother Brandon who has quietly and discretely had a sweet spot in his heart for Olivia. Of course she was out of bounds while engaged to his stepbrother but now all bets are off. Brandon is going to make sure Olivia doesn't suffer any collateral damage during this wedding fiasco. But who is going to save her from Brandon -- well that is if she really wants to be saved.

Loved it and you will too. Get ready to fall in love with the latest inhabitants of Whiskey Creek. Lovely lead in story to When Lightning Strikes which received a five star rating in my review. Check it out.
