Gideon Cross is as damaged on the inside as he is flawless on the outside. Sylvia Day has created a unique and well- loved hero that hits readers where it hurts the most -- their hearts. Leagues of readers have fallen in love with the complicated, obsessive and emotionally scarred duo of Gideon and Eva. Almost as possessive and obsessive as Gideon is over Eva, readers grow rabid over their love for the Crossfire trilogy. Day is really made her name with this series!

REFLECTED IN YOU tests the bonds that hold Gideon and Eva together. It will crush reader's hearts and take them on an emotional journey that will slay them. As Eva and Gideon undergo therapy to fight the dark demons that haunt their past, their relationship is jeopardized when emotional insecurities, lack of communication, secrets, and Gideon's possessiveness push Eva to the brink. REFLECTED IN YOU is most definitely a lesson in blind trust. But will Gideon and Eva's passionate love for each other be enough to slay their personal demons and overcome insecurities?

This book is as much about the sex as it is the emotional journey. However, I cannot say that this book worked for me in this regard. Though frequent and more daring, most of the sex scenes felt flat. Anger, jealously and vulnerability fueled one particular sex scene and that for me was the best one of the book because it involved emotions other than potent lust. I yearned for something more and was slightly disappointed when Gideon's dominance failed to translate into sex. It seemed like the most logical step forward given his personality.

Day's writing is smooth and flowing and that contradicted nicely with the mess that Gideon and Eva endure. It brought a little bit of structure to a relationship that so clearly needs it. Emotions run high and even as Day reveals the secret that Gideon kept from Eva all this time, I still felt something was missing. This book, and especially this series, don't fit into any clear lines. There's no natural progression for these two. Gideon and Eva are too messed up for that. Turbulence very much follows Eva and Gideon on this journey. It's no easy ride.

I'm torn. Reading this book in a single sitting wasn't enough for me. I wanted more, but I also felt conflicted when their actions caused more harm than healing. It's exhausting, yet so interesting that I could not look away.

One thing is for certain...Day writes a compelling story for Gideon and Eva. Eyes glued to the pages until I flipped that last page, I devoured REFLECTED IN YOU until there was nothing left to consume. I will be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series to find out if Gideon and Eva finally find peace, not only in their relationship, but also in themselves.

Book Summary

Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We'd never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.

We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...
