The PEC aka The Preternatural Enforcement Coalition is an organization that prosecutes supernatural offenders. They step in to solve these heinous crimes but they also protect their kind from being discovered by humans.

A quick mind swipe is what is needed so the human police don't find out about supernaturals and try to kill them. The PEC keeps humans and their kind safe so they can both live side by side without anyone being harmed.

Agent Ryan Doyle is a percipient paradaemon who works for the PEC solving cases. After someone dies, Doyle can see the deceased person's last thoughts and images to help solve their murders by simply placing his hand on them.

Doyle's latest case is of a werewolf named Jordan who was murdered. While nearing death he dragged himself into a vampire club and begged them to get the percipient aka Doyle. Jordan left images in his mind for Doyle to solve the case.

A group of humans which is quickly multiplying into a small army is hunting the supernaturals and has a plan to eradicate the world of them. A reporter named Andy learns about this army through her cousin who is joining them. She decides to go undercover to get a scoop for a story.

Agent Doyle is also going undercover but for the PEC. He must pretend he is human and join this group of misfits on their search to kill his own people. Will Andy and Doyle's undercover operations be discovered? Will Doyle be able to hide that he is a paradaemon from this army of killers?

WHEN TEMPTATION BURNS is the sixth installment in the Shadow Keeper's Series which are standalone stories featuring the agents from the PEC organization. There are brutal scenes of violence but the storyline is so intense and exciting that I merely winced and kept frantically reading to find out what would happen next.

WHEN TEMPTATION BURNS is the best Shadow Keeper's book to date. Extremely suspenseful action, lots of supernatural magic, sizzling romance, and good writing make this book my favorite by J.K. Beck. I gasped, I oooed, I ahhhed, I jumped, I read pages aloud to my boyfriend!

I couldn't stop talking about WHEN TEMPTATION BURNS and how much I was enjoying it. The action scenes are so vivid that I could definitely see this book being turned into a movie.

Overall, WHEN TEMPTATION BURNS is an intense, roller coaster ride of excitement from beginning to end. RUN and get this book. I promise you won't regret it!
