Billy and Kristen meet when he is sent to South Beach to guard an expensive necklace during a charity event being held at the Dante Hotel. Kristen is general manager, not to mention the owner's daughter. Billy isn't too thrilled with assignment; he much prefers guns and blowing things up. When cars start to go missing Billy is thrilled to have something interesting to do. The investigation also keeps him close to Kristen, a woman who makes him drool. Kristen doesn't trust danger-loving Billy, especially since she can't believe that any man would choose her over her skinny and beautiful younger sister. As Billy's investigation deepens the danger mounts. It's up to Billy to save the day, all while challenging Kristen to believe in what they might have together.

I have been a big fan of Adrienne Giordano's Private Protector's series since the publication of Man Law. This fourth book in the series may just be the best one yet. Clearly, I thought Billy was a great character...tough, smart, funny, flawed, sweet. Kristen was an independent, confident professional with vulnerability when it came to her self-image. Their strengths and weakness added richness to the challenges in their relationship which included learning to accept themselves while still making adjustments to be the person each wants to be. The car theft plot was satisfyingly intriguing, surprising, and dangerous.

RELENTLESS PURSUIT is a must read for fans of romantic suspense. It works well as a stand-alone story but I would recommend catching up on the series.
