She is desperately trying to keep the murder under wraps as the reasoning behind it leads to her secret status as a hybrid. If the world knew what she truly was, all hell would break loose.

Will Caris and Tiberius be able to work together as a team or will their long history and undeniable attraction cause problems for them? Will they take a chance and find love again or will Caris being a hybrid just become too much for Tiberius to deal with?

WHEN PASSION LIES is the fourth book in the Shadow Keepers Series but can be read independently as a stand-alone story. J.K. Beck is the pen name for author Julie Kenner, author of the Demon Hunting Soccer Mom Series as well as many other books. She has also written The Blood Lily Chronicles with the titles Tainted, Torn and Turned. These books are my absolute favorite of all time and the best I have ever read.

The backstory of Caris and Tiberius is a relationship that lasted for over 500 years but was torn apart for the last 20 due to her becoming a hybrid. Their chemistry was intense, the way they moved together was so natural, and I just loved and rooted for them to have a happily ever after.

Now although WHEN PASSION LIES is labeled paranormal romance, it is gritty. There are quite a few violent scenes and flashbacks, but nothing so over the top that it disturbed me.

There's just something about reunited lover stories that grabs my heart. I truly love those types of books. There are plenty of fight scenes, action and near death battles to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Overall, WHEN PASSION LIES is suspenseful, heart stopping, beautiful, and everything I could have asked for in a story. I will quickly be diving into the fifth book, When Darkness Hungers, next.
