A very young girl turns up dead and Kate is approached by Texas Ranger, Wyatt Sheridan. Wyatt is in the Child Rescue Task Force, dealing with child prostitution. A widower, he has a 14 year old daughter who brings this problem to the forefront for Wyatt and makes it a personal task. Working together on the case ensures threats to Kate. Both Kate and Wyatt realize after a while they have formed a deep feeling for one another while working closely together. For revenge on a bungled attempt to kidnap Wyatt's daughter for prostitution and removed from the country, this ultimately results in Kate's abduction instead. Knowing that Kate was taken in the place of his daughter, Wyatt is devastated. All he can think now as he frantically searches to find Kate is that he has lost another love just when he has finally accepted his wife's death and ready to move on.
The subject of child prostitution brings reality to a very serious and true problem in our country. The characters are dedicated and portrayed as loving and caring people risking their lives to help others. I was completely drawn into this story of deception and horror in the lives of children. I found SAVING HOPE to be very well written and apparently well researched for accurate facts. Margaret Daley has captured my attention and makes it absolutely impossible to put down until the very last page is turned! Completely captivating!
