Sammy and Gabriel were brothers and Gabriel still reserves the right to needle Sammy to try to convince him to recant his bad ways. Sammy is happy that he now has the chance to heckle the human Gabriel into falling in love. If a reader is expecting Gabriel to lose his angelic ways right away, the reader may be disappointed. Terri Garey handles the idea of an archangel falling in love very well. Gabriel is portrayed as more of a romantic than just sexy. He isn't one of those guys who charms of a woman and then tosses her to the side when he is done with her.
Hope is a good character even though at times it may seem as if Gabriel may overshadow her, but she is often sweet, kind, and caring. God is not portrayed as an angry Being, but rather a more benevolent One who understands. The ending was not be quite what I was expecting, but I certainly appreciated the twists and surprises. A DEVIL NAMED DESIRE is cute, charming and downright enjoyable.
Book Summary
In the second spin-off of the RITA Award-winning Nicki Styx series, Terri Garey takes another look at the dark side of history's original and most diabolical bad boy--Sammy (Satan) Divine--as he sets out to prove to his old friend, the archangel Gabriel, that when forbidden fruit comes in the form of a woman, it can be very hard to resist. Garey is also the author of Devil Without a Cause, the first volume in this series.
