Another compelling reason to return to Virgin River and Robyn Carr. Once again Carr delves into the lives of endearing characters and makes you wish their stories were never ending -- like leaving behind really good friends. This book truly stands on its own merits but if you missed HIDDEN SUMMIT be sure to put it also on your must read list. The relationship between siblings Conner and Katie is heartwarming and their story is riveting. And in REDWOOD BEND we get to follow Katie's search for a solid future for herself and her boys. In true Carr fashion the inhabitants of Virgin River jump off the page and will remain with you.

Katie Malone worked to rebuild her life with her twin five year old boys, the last few years had truly been a test of her resiliency and she needed to reconnect with her brother Conner in Virgin River. Both their lives had been radically changed when he was a key witness to a murder and for her protection they remained apart. Once that case was resolved Connor put down roots. It was only natural Katie follow suit once it appeared Vermont didn't hold the key to her future but this was to be a short visit.

Katie was no shrinking violet. She learned to be self sufficient early on and her experience in their family hardware business meant she hadn't met a tool she couldn't handle. But as fate would have it dealing with a stubborn lug nut, who would show up to lend a hand but a motorcycle gang. Not your average gang but a group of friends, big somewhat scary looking guys, who didn't hesitate to step in. That's when she came face to face with amazingly built and gorgeous hunk Dylan -- even with her guy radar set to off he registered high. Of course Katie was fairly certain it was a onetime encounter but with Virgin River a rather small town...

Dylan was on a mission to spend time with friends and scout out possibilities for his charter airline currently in the throes of economic slowdown. Childress Aviation was his baby and he needed to drum up business or an infusion of cash to keep it afloat. Dylan had grown up in the public eye with a family of performers and had a successful run as a child star. Rather than follow the route of disillusioned actors Dylan's grandmother took control and gave his life substance through hard work. And that's the Dylan that was immediately attracted to this petite woman with moxie.

Attraction was one thing -- but commitment was another -- one Dylan felt incapable of. When Katie and Dylan could no longer ignore their desire they did the grown up thing -- a fling with no expectations. Katie felt confident her most valuable assets, sons and heart, were protected but somehow this wonderful guy became rather important to them all. When he left Katie was left with still another broken heart. But was that truly the end of their love story? Well we hope not. REDWOOD BEND is another great read in the Virgin River world, one you won't want to miss.
