Ia is a precog; she can slip into the time streams and see what is coming. She can pick certain paths so that she will be where she is needed at the correct moment. However, there are millions of paths, choices and possibilities. She must choose carefully and not look too long at people she knows. Some she must guide and some she cannot save. Her goal though is to save as many as she can while keeping what she can do secret. There are others like her but none have seen so far into the future. They are controlled and limited by the people who think they know how to use them. Ia must not fall into their hands.
She joins the Space Force Marines and earns the nickname Bloody Mary because she throws herself into her plan whole- heartedly and she must be careful. Everything depends on her even the very fabric of her universe.
This is one of the best in a new series I have read in a long time. We all have series' that we keep up with and this is one you should add to your list. THEIRS NOT A REASON WHY: A SOLDIER'S DUTY by Jean Johnson was a ride worth taking. Every minute and every page keeps you entranced and reading, wanting more and more. Watch for the second coming out in August 2012, Theirs Not to Reason Why: An Officer's Duty.
