A gorgeous cowboy, Clayton Worth, has been heading up his family cattle ranch in Red Ridge, Arizona since his father's death. A former superstar in country music, macho Clay is as physically appealing to the ladies as he is famous for his music. Clay gave up all women when he met and fell in love with beautiful Trisha Fontaine. Misunderstandings and Trish's refusal to bear him children leads them to divorce.

Trish, living in Nashville for the past year, is coming to the ranch for a dual purpose; to sign the divorce papers and to help launch the fund raiser for "Penny's Song", a charity built on the ranch to help children recovering from illnesses. As the publicity manager Trish has a personal investment in this project as her younger brother was a cancer victim as a child who went through the trials of streamlining back into life again. However, Trish wasn't expected to show up with a nearly 5 month old daughter in tow. Beautiful little Meggie lost her mother, Trish's best friend, to cancer with the promise that Trish would raise her. Neither could resist the sexual pull towards each other and both being celibate for a year, landed in the sack with the boiling hot sex that no one else could ever give. Resistance to each other's sexual prowess and sizzling sex only drew them closer to realizing how much they were still in love. The big obstacle is the local little country neighbor who has had her hat set for Clay.

This is a very cute short story of two people who found each other but weren't open enough with talking out their feelings and misgivings to keep the marriage together. Clay is a hunky, gorgeous man who has always had his way and followed by pretty women wherever he went. Trish was a child receiving little attention at home while her parents had to devote their time to the child fighting cancer. The way Clay falls in love with Meggie is wonderful and he is truly made for fatherhood. The story is quite short but completely captivating.
