Lily Parr believes her father was murdered and now she's on the run for her life. Her only clue has led her to Bruno. She tracks him down at the family diner where he's filling in for Zia Rosa who is off helping with McCloud babies. Since his nightmares keep him from sleeping, the night shift is no problem for Bruno. Things have gotten especially interesting now that Lily has started showing up for pie. The attraction was instantaneous and, as the two are headed to the apartment for a night of passion, they are attacked by men determined to kill them. Soon, Bruno and Lily are on the run, trying to sort out the truth behind her father's death and his mother's murder so many years ago, while evading killers who always seem to be one step ahead. They'll need to turn to the McClouds and their friends to get out of this with their lives as well as the truth.

I love the McCloud brothers and enjoy every opportunity to visit their world. BLOOD AND FIRE does not disappoint. The passion is intense, the action is relentless, the guys are at their sarcastic tough guy best, and the women give as good as they get. Bruno and Lily make a great couple and the bad guys are perfectly relentless. I particularly liked the aspects of the story that involved the McClouds dealing with the challenges of their reunited family, which now includes Bruno. You'll have trouble putting this book down, so get comfortable.
