There is a power struggle in the kingdom of Elden. The Blood Sorcerer intended to exterminate all of the royal family but underestimated the love parents have for their children. The King and Queen used magic and love to send their four children to the corners of the world to keep them out of the hands of the evil that has infiltrated their home. Each child has only two desires, to stay safe and seek vengeance.

The second book in the Royal House of Shadows series, LORD OF RAGE, focuses on the only daughter of the royal family, Breena. As a princess, her mission in life was to remain untouched by any man and marry for the political benefit of the kingdom. Finding herself walking in a barren land after the attack on her home, she is equipped with nothing other then her determination and sharp mind to survive the circumstances she finds herself in. Finding an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, she prays to the gods of Abyss that it is a sign of her salvation. The gods grant her pleas in more way then one.

Growing up in the warrior based tradition of the Berserkers, Osborn was excited and scared to have reached the day of the coming of age ritual that brought him face-to-face with a fierce bear. It did not prepare him for the slaughter he would set his eyes upon when he returned to his clan. Men, woman, and children lying throughout the camp with no sign of life left in their forms. It was easy to see that total annihilation was the mission of the aggressors, but they failed in one way. Osborn, with only the clothes on his back was able to escape extermination with his two youngest brothers. The only thought on the young Berserker's mind was avenging the death of his family and culture. From the coats worn by the attackers, Osborn was looking for the rulers of Elden.

I could not put down LORD OF RAGE. It was an intense, fast paced journey. The romantic tension that builds between Osborn and Breena is thick enough to cut with a knife. The drive for survival displayed by our leading man will make any reader fall head over heals. The interaction between the main characters is priceless and will bring a smile to your face if not a few laughs. The character growth we see in Breena is wonderfully written. From a sheltered princess to a fierce female warrior, she develops into an amazing protector ready to win back control of her brother's birthright. If you were to read only one of the stories in the Royal House of Shadows series, LORD OF RAGE would be my choice.

Book Summary

Princess Breena had been dreaming of her warrior lover when she was ripped from her Elden castle and thrown into a strange, dangerous realm. Lost and alone, she prayed for survival and vengeance for her stolen kingdom. She found both in a woodland cottage…in a dark bear of a man.

The golden-haired beauty had eaten his food and slept in his bed when Osborn found her. Though he wanted to awaken his virgin princess to carnal pleasures, Breena wanted more—including his warrior skills. Skills the once-legendary mercenary had long buried. Now Osborn had a choice—risk his life or deny his princess her fairy-tale ending.
