Cat and Bones are ready for some much-needed rest and relaxation after barely diffusing a massive paranormal battle; however, that's just not going to happen. Not only has her former team been taken over by someone with a real prejudice against vampires and a personal beef against Cat, her Uncle Don can't pass over to the other side, and their ghostly friend Fabian's new friend Elisabeth wants to try and kill Heinrich Kramer, the man who wrote Hammer of the Witches and who becomes flesh once a year, long enough to have a murdering spree against women he deems as witches. No rest or relaxation seem to be in sight for Cat and Bones, as they have to fight on multiple sides to keep themselves afloat, but at least they have great friends: other vampires, a cat, a dog, some ghosts, and a fantastically campy flower merchant/medium.

Like all of Frost's works, ONE GRAVE AT A TIME is a sexy, funny, well-crafted novel. Her characters are excellently detailed down to the last iota, and readers will grind their teeth in frustration as she hits the nail on the head with a character who values PR, bureaucracy, and his own skin more than doing what's right. Go read this book!
