I would like to start by saying to any first time readers don't start at the end. This series has built upon itself and should be read in it's entirety from book one. The relationships between the characters cannot be fully appreciated without reading the whole series.

Unlike previous books, BURN THE NIGHT was written from two perspectives. In the beginning I didn't really like this change, but throughout the book I got a look at Nyx that I had never seen before. I felt that this angle of writing worked really well for this, the final, book of the series. Getting an inside look at Nyx just let me be closer to her and understand her more than ever before. I loved the fact that plots were emerging from all sides. The intensity of the story was amazing, the action never stopped and even at the last pages you are left with a feeling that the world was still hanging on a precipice. I found that Nyx really did compliment Mira in more ways than one. Both are really powerful characters, both have been set aside by their people, and both are struggling to make a better place for those in their lives. The writing style in this book was fantastic and led me closer to a sense of completion than ever before. On top of the writing style we finally get to see the steamy scenes that every reader has been hoping would be in this book. The sensuality and smoke that Mira and Danaus leave between the pages was amazing! I was very happy to see their relationship come to this point and the steamy scenes was another added bonus. Another aspect of BURN THE NIGHT that I loved was the ending so I won't spoil it for you! I found that after the first few chapters I was simply flying through this book. While sad to see an ending to the series, I felt that it truly ended as the characters and the series deserved it to.

Struggling from the past, Mira has lived a life full of heartache, betrayal, and a never ending fight on her hands. Being used by friends and enemies alike, Mira is never fully sure who she can trust and who will be throwing the next knife at her back. The Naturi have split into two separate parts and everything points to a war that cannot be avoided. Mira is forced to join forces with the people she has always destroyed. Aurora, the Queen of the Naturi, is determined to bear all and show the world that there are things that go bump in the night and day. Will Mira be able to stop her before their lives are shattered in her wake? Once hated enemies, Mira and Danaus have come full circle. Are they better friends, enemies, or can they be the lover that they seem to be? Can a firestarter and a vampire slayer find a little bit of happiness in a world that is falling apart around them? Can Mira truly open her heart to Danaus and build the life she has always wanted?

Book Summary

For Mira, the end is nigh. The Great Awakening is approaching, and she must face her demons--her former mentor Jabari, who betrayed her; the relentless naturi who tortured her; the demonic father who is far more than he seems; and the Great Liege, who controls the vampire cover and the supernatural world. Even with the half-demon vampire hunter Danaus at her side, this will be more than the even the Fire Starter can face.
