The latest in the Myron Bolitar mysteries introduces a brand new thriller in which Myron becomes firmly embroiled in the problems of a long time client, Suzze T. Actually, Suzze T was a teenage tennis champion at one point who settled down and married another client of Myron's, Lex Ryder, rock star. Suzze is very pregnant and has cleaned up, trying to live a good life with her husband and upcoming baby.

Suzze appears at Myron's office very pregnant and very upset. Someone has written a comment on her Facebook page: NOT HIS. Lex, assuming that this means Suzze's baby isn't his, takes off and disappears. Suzze wants Myron to find Lex so that they can sort this out. She swears that her baby belongs to her husband and that she's been faithful. She just needs Myron to find Lex and bring him home so she can convince him of that.

Myron does locate Lex with the help of his partner, Esperanza. Esperanza is a gorgeous ex-female wrestler who went by the name of Pocahontas. She got pregnant, married, and quit wrestling so she could become a "respectable" mother and wife. Esperanza is pretty good at finding nearly anyone and anything, not to mention that she has connections all over the place. So when she locates Lex at an upscale nightclub, she makes sure that she and Myron get into the club.

After a brief conversation with Lex, Myron suddenly spots a woman that looks exactly like his sister-in-law. When he calls her name, she bolts like a hunted deer. Myron gives chase but is successfully stopped by club security. By the time he's extricated from that situation, the woman is long gone.

Now, there are two mysteries going on because it's been 16 years since Myron has seen or communicated with his brother. Kitty, Brad's wife, is the first chance that he's had in all of that time to find him. Now, Kitty has conveniently vanished into the wind but not before Myron can tell that she's totally strung out.

Myron sets out to locate both Lex and Kitty while keeping a handle on his representative business. These searches lead him into some very unexpected situations, but he's always got a way out of them courtesy of his partner, Windsor Horne Lockwood III. Win, as he prefers to be called comes from money---LOTS of it. But he's also one of the most different and interesting characters you'll ever meet in real life or on the written page.

With the help of Win, Esperanza and his secretary extraordinaire, Big Cyndi, all of these mysteries and puzzles are solved but not before much excitement and danger takes place.

LIVE WIRE is a book so full of twists and turns that you'll stay riveted until the last page. There are deaths, double crosses and deep, dark secrets held for years. This would make an excellent movie because it has a bit of everything. Harlan Coben has been writing amazing books for years. This one is another of his books that simply should not be missed.

Book Summary

Harlan Coben published his first Myron Bolitar thriller, Deal Breaker, in 1995, introducing a hero that would captivate millions. Over the years we have watched Myron walk a tight rope between sports agent, friend, problem solver and private eye, his big heart quick to defend his client's interests so fiercely that he can't help but jump in to save them, no matter the cost.

When former tennis star Suzze T and her rock star husband, Lex, encounter an anonymous Facebook post questioning the paternity of their unborn child, Lex runs off, and Suzze - at eight months pregnant - asks Myron to save her marriage, and perhaps her husband's life. But when he finds Lex, he also finds someone he wasn't looking for: his sister-in-law, Kitty, who along with Myron's brother abandoned the Bolitar family long ago.

As Myron races to locate his missing brother while their father clings to life, he must face the lies that led to the estrangement - including the ones told by Myron himself. If we thought we knew Myron Bolitar, Coben now proves we didn't. An electric, stay-up-all night thriller that unfolds at a breakneck pace, Live Wire proves that Harlan Coben still has the ability to shock us anew.
