Cecily Sutton should know how easily life can change in one unguarded moment. After all, she is a powerful half blood, part human and part elf, and her life is forfeit if her birth father, one of the elven lords who control England, ever finds her. One second she is frolicking in the waves, and the next she is using her power over water to destroy the invading army. All Cecily knows is that her mother is dead, and her carefree days by the seaside are over. She must find out what happened to her adopted father. She knows that he is a spy for the Rebellion, and understands that she could be a powerful weapon for their cause. Her quest for her father takes her on an unrivaled journey. What will she learn from her travels? Will she find what she is looking for?

Giles Beaumont has protected Cecily for the past nine years. Now that she has destroyed the army that has come to their village, it is imperative that they leave immediately for a safe haven. There will be more troops sent to capture the one who could wield such powerful magic. Giles knows that she could be the Rebellion's only hope to defeat the elven lords who rule over them. With only his enchanted blade to protect them, they set off on an adventure. He did not suspect how badly they would be tested. He has no doubt in his strength to protect her from enemies, but his resolve to keep her at arm's length is slowly dwindling in her constant presence. Will he be able to deliver her unscathed to the Rebellion's leaders? Will they accomplish what they set out to do?

Kathryne Kennedy crafts a glittering historical romance greatly enriching it with a splash of fantasy. Her imagination knows no bounds as she weaves a spectacular tale where England has been conquered by seven elven lords. She sweeps her readers along for the journey with her vivid descriptions from lush, fertile fields to desolate, barren wastelands depending on which lord rules sovereign. Cecily and Giles have a peril filled mission ahead of them, but the main danger seems to be whether or not they can keep their hands off of each other. I was completely addicted from the first page, and as the story wore on I knew that only finishing it would satisfy my craving. THE LADY OF THE STORM casts a magical spell, conjures a passionate romance, and beckons to be enjoyed over and over again. Ms. Kennedy brings a spark to the fantasy genre, and I look forward to the next pursuit in bringing down the elven lords.
