Candy Holliday loves living in Cape Willington, Maine. She and her father operate a blueberry farm, and she has a part time job as a reporter for the local paper. She is preparing to cover the lobster cook-off when she is asked to step in for a missing judge. Mr. Sedley has been missing for a time, and his good friend and fellow contestant has asked Candy to look into his disappearance.

After the cook-off and the announcement of a surprising winner, Candy sets out to discover the whereabouts of Mr. Sedley. What she learns is disturbing. No one has seen the old man in days and yet there seem to be no clues. To solve the mystery, Candy will dip into the files of the columnist that she replaced.

What she learns as she continues investigating will stun the occupants of Cape Willington. Candy will learn her prime suspect isn't the villain she thought and some surprises about the results of the cook-off. There are more secrets in their small town than one would expect.

Peopled with quirky and amusing characters, Cape Willington is a nice setting for the cozy mysteries. This is the second in the series which I've enjoyed. The mysteries aren't the most complex but the journey the authors lead us on is enjoyable.
