Cora Felton, the Puzzle Lady, is on the road, publicizing a breakfast cereal on TV and complaining that her niece, Sherry Carter, (the real puzzle lady) won't take credit for her work. But this promotional trip isn't turning out to be such fun, as a deranged crossword puzzle fan is leaving clues that indicate something isn't right. (Very obvious when they find a crossword puzzle stuck to their front door with a knife!) The publicist doesn't want to hear that the Puzzle Lady may have a stalker, and Sherry is determined to solve the mystery before someone gets hurt.

The cast of characters in this wacky book supply most of the fun. Cora is an indomitable spirit who will make you cackle and anxiously await your golden years when you can act outrageously, too. This was my first Puzzle Lady book and I enjoyed its characters tremendously. I also liked the fact that there are crossword puzzles to solve throughout the book. Definitely a series for those who like to play with words.
