Lia lived under the shadow and cruelty of her vampire mother,,constantly trying to prove herself worthy of her mother's title as a human in a vampire world. She stayed human only for her father, who wanted her to experience a human life before surrendering it to become vampire. With her mother's demise, Lia can now move forward and solidify her claim completely by becoming vampire herself.

Utah's soul is utahraptor; so, when he gets angry, he gets deadly, shredding and tearing his enemies to pieces while in his shifted form. After his brother is murdered by vampires, Utah goes on a vampire killing spree, intent on wiping out the filthy race.

Since Fin has seen Lia in a vision as a key to destroying one of Zero's warriors, Utah must put aside his hatred for vampires long enough to work with Lia to destroy the next 'number'. It is soon found that my enemy's enemy is my friend, as well as my lover. Can they battle past Utah's hatred for vampires and Lia's need to become one in order to feed the passion between them and survive the battle ahead of them?

ETERNAL PREY is the third book in the Gods of Night series. It is filled with action, drama, and strong emotional and sexual scenes. The story flows well between multiple characters, introducing the reader to both sides of the battle (at least on the omnipotent level).

This series is an intriguing take on the Mayan 2012 mythology which is a repeating cycle. Nina Bangs takes historical evolutionary markers, such as the extinction of the dinosaurs, to demonstrate the cycle and show from whence the combatants for 'good' come from. With the theory that the soul is forever, in the last great cataclysm of the destruction of the dinosaurs, the omnipotent Fin selected twelve warriors to fight against the warriors for the 'dark side'. Now residing in the bodies of humans, they may shift into their former forms to battle against Zero's warriors. Zero appears to be the equivalent of Fin, but where Fin's warriors are dinosaurs, Zero's warriors each have specific talents (such as telekinesis) and are named by numbers. They are described in more demonic terms and are, for the most part, more monsters than the dinosaurs.

I wasn't sure if I would like the concept of human bodies shifting into huge dinosaurs, but Nina Bangs' imagination allowed me to accept her characters completely. I plan on going back and catching the first two books of the series, Eternal Pleasure and Eternal Craving.
