Maddy's best friend likes William, her patients admire him for the respect he gives them and her warrior cousin understands him. Maddy is glad someone seems to understand what's going on: with extremely localized storms, vicious monster-wolves, dragon-sightings and reports of mermaids in the bay, a series of strange events keeps happening. What's odd is that all of these crazy things only started occurring after Eve's husband, Kenzie, arrived in the area. However, William's old-fashioned ideas about courting tend to distract Maddy from even the most unusual situations...until she realizes that William himself, a former dragon, is an unusual situation.

The work is as funny and steamy as can be expected from Chapman; the idea of a time-traveling warrior who used to be a dragon "courting" a modern woman is well-executed!
