Serge and Coleman are at it again, causing trouble as they travel through sunny Florida. Only this time the police are hot on their trail. The law has almost caught up with Serge A. Storms, a rebel who has viciously (and creatively) murdered dozens of lowlifes and criminals over the past few decades. The two detectives heading up the search for Serge find themselves only a half a step behind the fugitive and his consistently intoxicated sidekick. During their chase through Florida, unable to overcome the impulse to stop at historic sites, the two run into some old friends. Serge's dad has ties to the mob, and now there's talk of hidden treasure deep in the Florida swamp. More than a few people are looking to get their hands on it, and Serge may have a clue to its location. Then as if running from the police and searching for buried treasure isn't enough to keep Serge and Coleman busy, they soon find themselves with another traveling companion. Serge's pissed-off estranged wife leaves them with a little boy who acts entirely too much like Serge for anyone's comfort.

ELECTRIC BARRACUDA is the thirteenth book in Tim Dorsey's Serge A. Storm series. This latest installment continues in the tradition of a comedic mystery with offbeat humor. Filled with silly puns and obscure references, this book will either leave you laughing out loud or scratching your head. I particularly enjoy the hysterical observations Serge makes regarding human behavior. He's very insightful for a homicidal maniac. Each adventure with Serge and Coleman is also a great way to gain useless but interesting knowledge. In this book you will learn how to play pool using Hot Wheels ramps and what is the longest word in the English language that you can spell with just the top row of a keyboard.

ELECTRIC BARRACUDA is perfect for someone who enjoys more than a little off-the-wall humor with their mystery. Be cautioned that it is not for the faint-of-heart though. If you can't find anything funny about the heartless killing of miscreants or the outlandish antics of the perpetually stoned Coleman then this isn't the book for you. But if you're like me, you'll quickly find yourself routing for this like-able killer and his faithful sidekick who never fail to take matters into their own hands.
