Harper Blaine is a Greywalker, someone able to crossover into the world of ghosts, and paranormals. The pulsing, colored energy of the grid fills her visions and the voices of the dead fill her mind. Struggling to stay sane amidst the cacophony in her head, Harper knows she's a pawn in someone else's game, but so far, she doesn't understand why.

Returning home to Seattle from an assignment, Harper tries to check in with Edward, the vampire who sent her to London. He's gone, his stooge Goodall is now something less than human, and weird, glowing-eyed vampires are hunting for her. Along with help from her boyfriend Quinton, her ferret Chaos, the magical Danzingers, the necromage Carlos, and the ghost of her father, Harper struggles to figure out Wygan's master plan, and why she is such a significant part of it.

This is the fifth novel in the Greywalker series. Even so, it's easy to fall into Harper's world as the author does a great job of giving you enough back-story to understand the current situation, and enough action and plot to keep you reading. Quinton is a wonderful sidekick and a valuable part of the story. The plot is intricate, involving layers of plans like the layers of the labyrinth Harper has to navigate to accomplish her goals. While the situation does have an ending, it's obvious there will be more Harper Blaine stories to come, and I look forward to reading them.
